+Edit (09-11-2024): I think Trump's appeal goes further than him being a reaction to the far left. It's an important part of his appeal, but to suggest that that alone accounts for his support in 2024 was an oversimplification. A few other factors that I believe contributed to his election win were the inflation due to Covid, populism being very fashionable right now, Biden and Kamala being weak alternatives, and disinformation and conspiracies favorable to him flooding social media.
